WiFiFoFumServices
WiFiFoFumServices is a flexible platform that builds upon the popular WiFiFoFum mobile client. We offer a robust multi-platform solution for wireless surveying that coupled with WiFiFoFumServices provides a versatile mobile solution for wireless positioning both indoor and outdoor.
WiFiFoFum
The WiFiFoFum surveying client is currently available on several platforms including iPhone, Windows Mobile and Android. The technology itself also provides support for ad-hoc peer-to-peer data communications such as in our WiFiTunes application.
WiFiFoFum scans for 802.11 wireless (WiFi) networks and displays information about each network it detects; including: SSID, MAC, RSSI (signal strength), channel, AP mode, security mode and available transmission rates.
WiFiFoFum's radar view provides a graphical representation of nearby WiFi access points. The radar positions the APs with those with the highest signal strength near the centre to those which have a low signal strength positioned on the periphery.
WiFiFoFums nearby view shows open access points and the distance from the users current position. By selecting one users can be guided to Internet access via WiFiFoFum's built in map.
WiFiFoFum also supports wardriving by creating logs of access point locations as they are discov ered. These KML logs can then be viewed directly on the iPhone's map application or emailed so that you may view them on your desktop or laptop. To view emailed logs just paste the link in the email into the Google Maps site.
